Brand Refresh: Brand Identity System, Brand Narrative, Product Packaging, and Brand Guidelines

As Covid-19 hit, the company needed to quickly pivot to a subscription-based sales model.

When Empress investments approached us to help refresh Leap Coffee’s brand and packaging design, for us, it was no ordinary project. As patrons and coffee enthusiasts, it was more like a labor of love. As Covid-19 hit, the company needed to quickly pivot to a subscription-based sales model.

We knew the brand and packaging had some heavy lifting to do to exude all the qualities customers love about Leap: premium quality, enthusiastic service, small batches, and consistency in their roasts.

Our Process & Our Promise

From coffee fields to the coffee cup, we stand our grounds. We first start at the source, working directly with importers that value transparency, traceability, and social responsibility just as much as we do. Next, we carefully select and sample-roast our green coffee beans to ensure we’re roasting and sharing the best quality coffee and lots with our guests. And finally, we meticulously roast every small batch from cratch until it’s absolutely perfect. Whether you’re a highly knowledgeable coffee expert or just someone that loves good coffee, LEAP’s got you and your tastebuds covered.

Positioning Leap in the premium subscription category was foundational to our design scheme which included clean packaging and playful details to articulate brand values and encourage customers to subscribe online.
We also developed a custom sticker set as an extension of their design language and dialed in their overall brand voice to be more approachable for customers.
